There is a particular harmony that has always been my musical mantra. You’ll find it in this short tune between the vocal and the guitar chord. It really resonates with something inherent in my passions, and I’ve returned to that harmony many time over the past half century.
Extending
I got my first real guitar with my first paycheck at my first real job in 1971 – MacDonalds. I was 18 years old, freshly graduated out of high school and took a year off before college to determine what I wanted to do with my life.
The songs I wrote and recorded in those days were all experiments, like this one, playing around with some interesting chords and practicing my technique.
A Happy Tune
This one might be developed into something pleasant enough, though it currently only has a few interest chord progressions part-way in.
Potential 2
Same tune as Potential, but a cleaner take just to archive it.
Potential
This one actually has some potential as the beginning of a song. I may revisit it, time allowing.
Guitar Practice
Just practicing my fingering techniques. No rude comments, please…
In Search of Any Old Chord
Playing around with some interesting chord progressions.
A Different Strummer
Just tooling around, as we said back in the day. Still, near the end of this little free form session I found what I was looking for – some hooky chord progressions I could build a song on.
Pointless But Nice
The title says it all.
Upbeatles
Aside from my atrocious singing, this is a pretty good tune. Put the squawking goose aside, if you can, and you’ll hear an upbeat little ditty reminiscent of some of the clever chord progressions in some of the Beatles more light-hearted offerings. Now, if it only wasn’t for that screeching cat on the vocals.
