{"id":335,"date":"2013-06-04T11:30:10","date_gmt":"2013-06-04T18:30:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/storymind.com\/blog\/?p=335"},"modified":"2013-06-04T11:30:32","modified_gmt":"2013-06-04T18:30:32","slug":"dramatica-trivia-1","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/storymind.com\/blog\/dramatica-trivia-1\/","title":{"rendered":"Dramatica Trivia 1"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>When we published the first edition of <em>Dramatica: A New Theory of Story<\/em>, we were concerned that the &#8220;Truth&#8221; contained in the book would spawn a mob of groupies who would turn it into a cult.<\/p>\n<p>To prevent this, we put the following admonition on a page of its own before the main body of the book:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&#8220;This ain&#8217;t no bible; it&#8217;s just a damn book.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Although the book did indeed spawn groupies, we discovered they were wise enough to see Dramatica as a tool or a philosophy and not a religion. \u00a0So we dropped the warning from future editions as it was apparently unnecessary.<\/p>\n<p id=\"obi_random_banners_posts\" class=\"obi_random_banners_posts\"><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Man-Made-First-Hour-Event-ebook\/dp\/B09WYXMFBV\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/storymind.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Screenshot-2023-11-27-3.58.58-PM.png\" class=\"aligncenter\"><\/a><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>When we published the first edition of Dramatica: A New Theory of Story, we were concerned that the &#8220;Truth&#8221; contained in the book would spawn a mob of groupies who would turn it into a cult.
